Illness & Returning to School

Reducing the risk and spread of any illness is one of the most important parts of our job.

Students with the following conditions shall be excluded from school:

  • Fever of 100.0 or greater
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Eyes inflamed with purulent discharge, suspected conjunctivitis
  • Head lice (must be live lice-free with continued progress toward removing nits to come back to school)
  • Skin lesions (i.e. impetigo, ringworm and scabies) until under treatment and can be covered
  • Communicable disease

If your student has been sent home with any of these symptoms they will not be allowed to return to school for 24 hours.  Your student must be symptom and medication free for 24 hours prior to returning to school or be cleared by a provider.

If your student has tested positive for COVID-19, they will have to remain home until they meet all three of the following criteria for return:

  • At least 10 days from positive test result and/or 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared AND
  • Has improvement in symptoms

    AND

  • At least 24 hours has passed with no fever, without the use of fever-reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen

** Please send a doctor's note or parent note upon returning to school when your student is out due to illness**
